Schweeeeet!!!!! So, which one did the Tele sale go to?....lol I'll take the one that's front right. :D
Man, those GT's are GORGEOUS!!! They look like they're floating on a cloud.

Re: family pic

Your family pic reminds of a guy (about 75 years old) original and only owner of a 1954 Gold Top Les Paul who was offered $75,000 for it and turned it down at a Vintage Guitar show in Spartanburg, SC last year...she was beautiful instrument...makes me wonder what he got for it if indeed he sold it later...

Re: family pic

Very nice collectio indeed! As for the 53...Im glad you said it ^^^^^ because I didn't want to have to!

Let me ask...is the trap tailpiece really as hard to play as everyone says?

Re: family pic

for me its no problem, but i'm not doing ALOT of "palm muting".that's what i hear is the area in question. other than that , its a blast to play.

Re: family pic

Sheesh.......10 years ago, you could get one of those trapeze tailpiece ones for a song, relatively speaking........but this was also the time you could have bought Pat Traver's 1960 burst for $23,000.:smack: More than a couple of those have been converted to 56 or 57 spec over the years, even though they don't have the "correct" neck angle on the real early ones.

I like the RS kits andso does my tech. He says that he has used the high tolerance pots before but when you ad the Musicap, he doesn't even think about having to shielding the control cavity, even with normally noisy single coils like the Broadcaster.

Ouch.......even the "undesirable" Les Pauls are getting ridiculous. I saw a '57 Goldtop listed for $130,000 and a 3 pickup '57 Custom for $75,000. Wonder what a 2 pickup '57 Custom would go for these days, seeing that they are VERY rare.

Re: family pic

pretty awesome stuff. i never got into buying the vintage stuff but whatever turns your crank, i guess

Nice. I love the R7's. Just wish I could get my hands on one sometime. I've been good. Lovin' the Tele. It's seeing lots of playing time. Happy 4th to you too.

Yes it is!!! I have played a lot on that particular guitar and because of the height of the Trap it makes it difficult to play certain picking patterns. It puts you wrist a an odd angle and its hard to get the pick where you want it. But the tone of that guitar is crisp! and it cuts better than any of the others. P90's are such an underrated pickup. It sounded particularily good thru my Shiva.
