"family pics".....

Looks like a cool project.:bigthumb: You could do it in a Burst to hide the ugly on the edges. :D

I thought about doing a burst & maybe I will one of these days...but it'll never look "right" unless it's refinished & then reliced. Some of the gashes are pretty deep, it's like the thing has been bounced off every club stage in the 48-states!

The only reason I even bought the Melody Maker was because it was dirt cheap. My goal is to make it look better then it did for not a lot of dough and really, that's not too hard considering the condition! The finish was actually sticky in spots and some of the red fur from the case (smelled horrible BTW) was sticking to the finish!

Dude - You HAVE to Phil Collins-up that one with the Khaler. Cream buckers - three of 'em!!!

And can we see some pics of the chic who gets what she wants? That's a serious babe that could have her way with a vintage Gibson -crapped up or not!

I've been spyin' some tasty sunburst Destryersd on ebay....seeing this doesn't help!

wow, i havent seen one of those ltd MV's in forever

yep, it's my number 1. I'm about to change the neck pickup to a Little 59 and change to pots to 250k. I think that'll make it a better sounding and more versatile guitar. I had my issues with it but now that the single size buckers are all sealed, I think that settles it.

Thanks! I bought that one new back in '95...it's a koa top over an alder body and sounds great! Highly under-rated basses IMO, they're like an ideal Music Man...all the tone but none of the "plinky" stuff that interferes with acoustic guitars & hi-hats.

The rest of the collection;

'04 PRS Swamp Ash Special
'02 Flame Top Les Paul (not quite sure which variation it is, it's just good!)
'03 LP Special that's signed by Les Paul himself on the back of the headstock
'93 Hamer Diablo
'95 American Std Strat (candy apple red, currently for sale)
'99 1962 Reissue (Sherwood Green, also for sale)
'98 Schecter USA Tele
'05 Eric Johnson Strat (burst, on couch)

The Dan-O baritone & black semi-hollow ESP are recent...most likely '0something but I'm unsure of the years.
