Fat JoJo-Some ugly azzz funk!!

Brand new track here "Fat JoJo"
only 2 more and my disk will be done FINALLY!!!

This track is raw and mostly a JB influenced groove, as many of mine are :smack: . I used my Tokai Tele entirely on this track and after useing an A2 59 on all the other tracks I decided to use a DZ Virtual Tele bridge pickup, which I like a lot.

I'll give you the price ( 200.00 ) and you guys name the amp. Curious to see what you guys come up with. I love the tone out of this thing, it rocks with the best of em.

This was a fun track to do, I love the funk stuff !! Enjoy...

hey kevlar .. loved this track !! .. TOTALLY Beck influenced .. SWEET! ... that tokai tele sounds great with the DZ ... hope my tokai can sound like that some day!

as for the amp ... my first guess at that price point was a peavey bandit

I tend to wear my influences on my sleeve lately...lol Decent guess on the amp, not correct, it is all tube, from the mid 60s, and is a head. Ugliest thing you will ever see in an amp, which endears me to it even more.

Hey Thanks Rid!!

It was not the Cbro, it is an early 60s Silvertone 1483, from what I have learned it is one of the best Bassman copies ever made. The amp just screams!!

Great twang mixed with funk and rock, attitude, feel and melodies. Very pro sounding. All instruments work together well. I can usually hear EVH and JB in your playing, as I do on this tune.
I like the way you don't play with heavy distortion and depend on your fingers for tone. Lots of power in your fingers and the tune is very tight. Excellent all around man.

My distortion levels have gone down tons since I got the Plexi and other vintage types. It is almost silly how much I thought I needed to be able to play in the past. Clarity of the note is my new thing and with low gain all those little nuances come through so much better. It has been a re-education of sorts and as a result I feel like I am in a much more natural place to create. This tune is a scruffy one and is gonna be a gas to do live.

It is odd, I wasn't sure if I dug the tune or not when I finished it, but it seems to be a few folks I know fave. It has definately grown on me and I know once I hit it live I am gonna fall in love with it. It is a bit rough around the edges, but I gotta look at that as a good thing. Too much polish and I think the energy would be lost on this one.
