Fat Strat - Need your Input

Im looking for an all around guitar. I think I can get this with my HSS fat strat.


I want a strat sound, a gibson les paul classic rock/ southern rock sound, and a nu metal first, metal second bridge.


Neck - (strat sound) APS-1 alnico II pro™ staggered?
Middle - (classic gibson sound , jimmy page) Lil' 59 ?
Bridge -- Really want something that sounds like an EMG 81....for nu-metal...suggestions plz that would go with everything else?


Also, should I switch the Alnico and the 59's positions?

Got a similar setup. Put the 59 in the neck and the strat sound in the middle. More clean tones in neck position. I have no recommendations for bridge but don't go too high on the output.

Lil' 59 in the neck, Duncan Custom in the bridge. I am not too familiar with the Distortion, but you can do that model too I think. The Invader is a little bright on the top, which is good if you shred. As far as the middle, I can only say, use a single coil, the Lil 59 is better off in the neck for your concept.

I heard tests and the little 59 sounds WAAAAY to thin for me.

I'm going for the '59 humbucker. (gibson sound)

So i got the alcino 2 (strat sound)


i still would like a modern, nu-metal type tone.

I'm either going for a hot rails in the neck or another Humbucker.


Any tips on making my HSS an HSH?

And wiring tips? I know nothing about wiring guitars but fix computers all the time so I'm a fast learner.

Also, neck, middle, and bridge can be chosen seperately with the 5 way switch, right? Positions 2 and 4 are in between? Does it matter if some choices conflict? I know that doubling similar sounds is liked by many, but I just need to make sure I can run my choices seperately without conflicts.

New to this really, an acoustic player myself. Thanks.
