Favorite Big Muff

Or variant, and why. I'm looking to buy one, I think, not sure which.

Ideally, I'd like a Fuzz Face, but I'm not willing to sacrifice wireless.

I like the Hizumitas. It's a copy of a tweaked Japanese Triangle Muff copy that was wildly out of spec. If you aren't afraid of $200+ prices, the Fuzztool is a Fuzz Face that has been tweaked to work with low impedence signals

I thought the cheape TC Electronic Honeycomb did a decent Muff sound for being so cheap.

That being said, if you want a Fuzz Face sound, I don't think the Muff will get you what you want. I always thought of the Muff as more of a "pretty" fuzz sound. Almost an in-between fuzz and distortion kinda deal rather than an ugly, nasty, broken fuzz sound ala Fuzz Face.

no, it does not. and i love a fuzzface, but they are cantankerous, especially the germanium ones. opposite polarity if you wanna use a power supply, but they sound better with a battery, and best with a heavy duty (non-alkaline) 9v. input impedance sucks, output impedance sucks, and they are very temperature sensitive. that said, nothing does what they do and i love my sunface. also have a fulltone 69 which is nice, but not the same as the sunface. less cantankerous though. a muff is a different thing for sure, but can be fun as well

I went through various Big Muffs trying to find my sound. I even tried the JHS Muffuletta. I ended up selling them all when I found the Mojo Hand Colossus.

This is the best fuzz I've ever heard. Monstrous sound. Sweepable mid control and a 3 way bass toggle. This is my sound.
