favorite clean tones...

Everybody talks about crunch, but what are some great clean tones...I'm gonna reach outside what i listen to to start this off...I'm sure lots of people will start naming Country or jazz players...Im gonna go the other way

-Kurt Cobain, Verse Chours Verse-The intro has a great clean sound
-Tom Delonge, I hate to say it, but he has a very different/signature clean tone...I don't even like Blink 182, and I can pick him out of a crowd
-Jimi, known for the fuzzy, over the top sounds of purplr haze, he had a great clean sound too
-Hank Marvin-one of the best tones EVER...no crunch what so ever
-Jeff Beck-Crazy Legs had some great clean tones, as well as Guitar Shop
-Andy Summers, Killer clean tones...lots of them!
-Danny Gatton, some great crunch BUT heavenly clean tone to boot
-Billy Gibbons, he rarely uses it but it's there
-Joe Perry, lots of good clean sounds

Anymore Ideas?

An often overlooked amazing guitar tone, both clean, mildly overdriven, and high gain, can be found on Yngwie Malmsteen's first album, Rising Force ...

Re: favorite clean tones...

Ain't got no new names but I can only join in and say David Gilmour and Mark Knofler. They're the kings of clean! I would say S.R.V. but he was at his best whith that slightly overdriven sound so it doesn't count...
