I've owned all of the above but a Mustang. They all have their charms but these days it's a Tele for me

I've always loved the look of the Tele particularly Springsteens and just a few weeks ago I finally got a nice one. Strats have always been a nightmare, I've had a few Fenders but for whatever reason sold them on. Finally ended up with a G&L Legacy and a Tyler, both great guitars but alas not Fender.

I had to say Telecaster because I own five of them. Don't ask how that happened, but it did.

I've always wanted a Mustang - I love the look and the sound of them (it is unique - very chime-y) however I've never found one that feels right when I pick it up. I love the look of the Jazzmaster and Jaguar as well but they're not well suited for what I do so I've never been able to work up the nerve to spend the cash on one.

I do have one Strat simply because I figured I probably should. It's good. Strats and Teles are just different. One it not inherently better than the other - they look different, sound different, play different, and even hang differently on you. It's all personal preference.

I pretty much agree. Nothing beats the Tele bridge and bridge pup for a 25.5 inch scale guitar. The tremolo hardware on the Strat and the 25.5 inch scale mean you can put about any pup in the neck and it is going to be wonderful. I have to go with an HH super Strat with a maple fretboard as my favorite. Everybody also needs to have a Jaguar or Jazzmaster or a Mustang for their quirky awesomeness.

I would agree with that. Modern versions of JMs are visually more appealing.

The mighty Telecaster is the greatest guitar of any manufacturer thus far.

It can can be modified to take on any personality whatsoever and still remain true to itself.

Hell, you can even change the headstock to a Snake or CBS and it still works.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Strat and every player needs one in their kit,
but you can only mod a Tele to cover all extremes.

No Esquire, Duo-Sonic, or Musicmaster. It's as if my three favorite Fender guitars were purposely left off just to screw with me!

Sorry, man - I was only looking at the ones you can come across relatively easily in a music store. I love Duo-Sonics too, like I said.

Think that might be because it's a smaller guitar with a 24 in. scale?
