Favorite Fixed Bridge?

There are many types of fixed bridges. Strat adjustable hardtail, Gibson ABR-1, Gibson Tailpiece only (ala '54 LPs, Specials, etc), Tele fixed, String through with a tune-o-matic, etc.

Just curious as to

1) which if any are your favorite

2) why? tone, feel, easy to adjust, etc.

i really like the callaham hard tail strat bridge and their vintage tele bridge.

really well made of good materials. they sound good and are very stable

I've mostly dealt with Gibson style TOM's. They work fine for me. Simple, reliable, and solid.

Haven't tried many others to be honest. I've tried a string thru body once but there was something about a string thru body that I just don't care for. But thats just me.

Only my opinion as a livingroom noodler, but I prefer the pass thru the body type first and foremost. I like the way it provides another resonance point to the wood for string vibration. Deans string thru and then over a tunamatic is on my list of favs. These three are reall cool too.

Hamer Sustain Block that came on early Sunburst and Special models and then on Vectors, Blitz, and other early '80s Hamers.
This is an '81 Special...

Dimarzio string thru the body design similar to Hamer's Sustain Block design on my Mighty Hamer Daytona Mite...

I also really like the Leo Quan Badass bridge designs a lot.

I'm getting my first Tonepros wraparound soon and am excited to try it.

Wow, quite an assortment.

The reason I asked is that I picked up a cheap MusicYo Kramer, and it's a Strat-style string thru.

I'm mostly used to Gibson bridges and ABR's with a string thru (Jackson style), so this bridge was quite different.

I was also curious about upgrades, and it looks like there are many.

My favorite for string replacing and just overall easy upgrading is a TOM with a stoptail, but sound wise I think string-thru with a TOM is really nice. I had a Schecter with that combo and it felt really resonant.

If you're looking to upgrade that kind of bridge, my suggestions probably won't help you lol.

I like any kind of bridge that doesn't have height adjustment screws (or anything else) sticking up above the level of the saddles.

My favourite is probably TOM/string through. I'm not a big fan of tremolos in general, but my 'most hated' is either a Floyd or a vintage Tele bridge with the raised edges.

Something I'd like to try is the Schaller 3d6 with adjustable string spacing, but I haven't got round to it yet.

I love the Hipshot flat mount hardtail. It's really comfortable and the build quality is rock solid.

Tele 3-barrel. They have wicked sustain/resonance, and they intonate better than you'd expect, especially with Joe Barden compensated saddles.

Tune-o-matic/stop tail combo is nice too.

I have limited experience with other hard-tail bridge types.

Fender's modern Tele bridge and Carvin's FT6 bridge. Simple, solid, and effective.

The only hardtails I really have any experiance with are TOMs and stoptails. Never had a problem with them.

I actually really like the tail-piece on my Aria. It's got two different ways of anchoring the strings so you can have different break angles over the bridge on different strings which is really nice.

Fender style hardtail bridge...Though I like Gotoh as the manufacturer. Gotoh GTC121 to be exact.
