The Air Zone does sound good split. The Custom is good too but can be really harsh on the high end depending on how the amp is dialed.
I don't know if I would spit a humbucker below the 10K mark myself. A couple exceptions that I have experience with are the PAF Pro, BB3 and '57 Classic. Crazy enough, they all sound really nice split with plenty of output.
It's going to take a lot to knock the Perpetual Burn off my list. The way it is wound and EQ'd makes it sound so great split.
