Favorite noise maker pedal?

What pedal do you plug in when you want a crazy, jacked up sound and want to have fun?

(I know, I should save my money for the SFX-03... way more useful)

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

You cannot possibly go wrong with a Zvex Fuzz Factory. It continually blows my mind. Once you really get to know how to use the knobs, you'll wish you had it mounted in your guitar.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

almost every ZVEX pedal can be used to make cool noise...the challenge with a ZVEX box is to use it and make a useable sound!

As for my fav noise maker that woudl be (this week) my original WH-1 Whammy Pedal...the reissues don't stack up at all and a whammy pedal just never gets boring!

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

the best noise makers (and you did say *noise*) are the old DIgitech Space Station pedal as well as the Line6 Filter Mod pedal. Warning: these can sound absolutely nothing at all like a guitar.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

I have an old Amdex Phaser that is pretty wild..... sounds like a Jet or Space Ship compaired to other Phasers.... It has an insane sweep to it..... Saddly it robs tone when it is off but it is a great sounding unit when it's on..... I hear they were home made pedal kits players could buy and solder together in the early 80's..... Boss was said to of made the parts....

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

Just about anything by Electro Harmonix. Great stuff in my opinion, same with Zvex.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

My Bluesdriver infront of my laney. When i feel like it I have it boost the already crunchy amp for my lead sound. If i feel evil i do some riffing. Gets into Black Label/Zakk stylie there and the harmonics just leap out of the speakers:)

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

My EH Electric Mistress (flanger) does some pretty wild stuff. Actually EH makes all kinds of wild effects. I'd love to try/own them all.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

When I just want to make noise, I put my Zoom 707 infront of my amp. I don't even have to play the guitar, 'cause the Zoom generates so much noise. Then I add some effects, and the noise can be swirling, pulsating, scratching, alien-like or human-like. I can also connect my guitar through another input, and play "normal" guitar above the noise.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

i once used a pedal called "total sonic annihilation" that i read about in some small as$ add in guitar world about 3 years ago. this pedal was absolutely nuts...

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

I've been blown away by the Z-Vex pedals for a long time...especially the Fuzz Factory. I became a Z-Vex dealer at NAMM this year. I think they're a load of fun...and sound great. lew

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

Yeah, I had Z.Vex in mind, they have a cool range of pedals, and I was also thinking about the Whammy and FM-4. EHX definately has some cool stuff, I'd love to play with the Micro Synth and Flanger Hoax. (I picked up the POG a month ago... this thing is really cool!)

I've never heard of Amdex or the Total SOnic Annihilation.

Has anyone played with the 4ms line? Isn't there another company that has a phaser with like 12 knobs on it too?

Ah yes, Studio Electronics. Anyone with experience with 4ms or Studio Electronics?

The Z Vex Probe pedals are the most fun. They're a theramin controlled effect. Wah Probe, Tremolo Probe, and Fuzz Probe.

+1 on the Line 6 Filter modeler (purple). If you want normal FX, get the blue one, but the purple one gets some UGLY sounds that are fun to play with.

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

Ooh, the blue box sounds cool... I wonder if I can duplicate that with a POG and a fuzz, though?

Re: Favorite noise maker pedal?

ive got a park fuzz sound, big muff, sd-1, cry baby, boss phaser, ibanez phaser, visual sound H2O, EHX memory man, and a re-issue whammy. I can get some absolutely wacko noises.
