Do you have a favorite amp brand that you gravitate towards? Is their a brand that just seems to build amps in line with what you like? If so, which company and which amp?

For me....Bogner and I love the early Uberschall's.

I tend to gravitate to Fender style cleans

my Belair may be more AC30 than Fender though

My most recent amp is a Bugera with the morph knob that changes it from British to American mid structure

on my modelers, I always dial in a Fender Twin and just go

My #1 right now is my Bogner, but I like anything that sounds good. I really like my Hughes & Kettner's a lot, but also like my Fender and Yamaha's. So, I guess I don't have a favorite per se.

Old Traynors #1 favorite!, and I love running a Marshall style plexi pedal into a Fender Deluxe or Vibralux Amp.

Although, the most compliments I ever get on tone are when I play my Gretsch through a VoxAC 15. People really gravitate to that deep desert lush and chimey sound enough to want to come up after a show and tell me about it.

What models?

For Soldano, the SLO.
For Marshall, 70's JMP models, early 90's JCM 900 MkIII, the Vintage Modern.

I don't own any of them (did own a 900 MkIII for more than 20 years) but I have played through all of them at one point or another.

These days I'm using modelers and always gravitate towards those amp voicings.

Favorite amp brand: Marshall
Favorite amp: Marshall Super Lead 100 (have played but don't own)
Favorite own and use: Wallace BKW45, Marshall JCM900 SL-X

But I don't often get to use these nowadays. I have a number of brands, smaller combos, but I'm always simulating the Marshall sound no matter what gear I'm using.

Nah, I have a favorite sound. If an amp gets that, I'll use it, but I am not particularly brand-loyal.

I hear ya. It sure seems like that gap has really shrunk in the recent years. I can think of amps that if you had to use them alone (no dirt pedals) you could get a great tone for anything you would have need of.

Marshall for the perfect crunch and heavy gain tone, I love the JCM 2000 series the most, they are perfectly brutal.

Peavey for the ballsy mid range tone to cut through on stage as well as in a mix. Toss up between the 6505/5150 and the JSX

I could be happy with, and get good tones out of most any middle of the road head though. I'm not super picky.

I've tended to gravitate toward Mesa's. I had a rectifier that was okay, which I then loved after I put 6V6s and GZ34 rectifier tubes in it. I miss that amp and look forward to replacing it some day. I currently own a TC-50, again with 6V6s.

That being said, I don't care what name is on the amp, so long as it achieves my desired sound.

My favorite amp is my Line 6 Spidervalve. Coincidentally, it's power section was designed by Bogner, though not built by his company.
I also like Jet City and Randall.

One of these days, I have to plug mine in and turn it on. I've only had it for 4 or 5 years. :flush:

That's how long that I've had mine. Which preset is my favorite? Out of the 128, that's a tough choice. One is a Fender of some sort with a slapback reverb, a metalzone type distortion and optional square wave chorus and short digital delay.
Another is the "Plexi on fire" with a Chandler Tube driver for distortion, plate reverb, v shaped chorus and a longer tape delay.
