What model mini humbucker is being used in the Fender '52 Hot Rod Telecaster? I assume the SM-1, but the website doesn't specify.

Re: Fender '52 Hot Rod Telecaster Neck

They call in the "Vintage Mini". I was looking for them to spell out the SM-1, but I guess that is the same thing.

Thanks,
Jack

Duncan makes three flavors or standard production mini-humbuckers that are not Antiquities.

1. Custom Mini-humbucker
2. Seymourized Mini-humbucker
3. Vintage Mini-humbucker

Re: Fender '52 Hot Rod Telecaster Neck

You will need to tell all if you pick one of those up!

I have two Telecasters. One has Antiquity II neck and Jerry Donahue bridge. The other Tele I have tried several things - most recently a TVJones SuperTron neck. While it sounded really good, it was way louder than the bridge and was a little boomy in the bass.

I heard the '52 samples on YouTube and wanted to know what Duncan it was. When Butch helped me realize it was an SM-1 - I decided to go with the Antiquity II Neck, (always had great success with Antiquities). Will keep you posted and let you know how it sounds.

Please do....
I finally got my new pickguard and mounted the Firebird Antiquity in the neck. Sounds awesome!! I am going to play in Tuesday at practice, but so far I like this the best of any Tele neck PU yet. Bright and balanced and not boomy in the bass. Matches well with my Hot for Tele bridge. Loving it so far, will give more details shortly.

I have a non-Antiquity SM-1 in the neck of my Nashville Tele, and yes, it's the best Tele neck pickup of all.
