Fender 57 reissue pro

So this amp is 26 watts, has a couple 6l6's, uses a 15 inch speaker, is hand wired, and is voiced for more midrange.
Anybody play one of these before? I am very interested in this platform. I wonder if I can get 15 to 18 watts clean headroom before it starts breaking up.

Re: Fender 57 reissue pro

Of the tweeds that are 6l6 based, the pro gives up the goods soonest, then the Super then the bandmaster. From some of the reading I have been doing I think it is the OT being different that is doing it.
So for your needs the Bandmaster would be the most likely for clean headroom - this is the secondhand info I have come up with from my searches for this very info.

Re: Fender 57 reissue pro

i have a tweed bandmaster circuit that scott built for me years ago. i built a 1x10/1x12 cab for it and it sounds fantastic. the volume difference between 15w and 26w isnt all that much and in theory that amp should be able to put out 26w clean(ish). the speaker will determine volume as much as anything else. its a fantastic circuit and fender puts it in a solid pine box. never tried one so dont know how it sounds with stock speaker and tubes and such but the tweed 6l6 sound is so fun to play.

Re: Fender 57 reissue pro

thanx for the info you guys, I have not tried it ether but the platform and wattage sounds just about perfect for what I want. I guess I could always play with the guitar volume to sweeten it up a little. I just need it to stay clean over a drummer so maybe i could just about dime it and use the guitar volume to control the overall volume.

Re: Fender 57 reissue pro

thats sorta what i do with most of my tweed amps. run the volume high, maybe 7, and use the guitar to clean it up. works great.
