I am happy to report I have had no issues so far with this amp. It sounds amazing and has some extra cool features on it.
1)-the louder you turn it up the more the high end rolls of with the bright switch on-helps eliminate any real "ice picky" treble overkill
2)-the Celestion speakers really help to roll off any unwanted highs as well but still retain that edgy cool clean Fender tone
3)-the -6 db tone designed to clean up a humbucker on input #2 on each side of the amp actually keeps the volume at a reasonable level for strats wile playing at home. It also does not diminish the tone at lower volumes ether-really cool
4)-with 2 distinctly different tone circuits one on each side bassman/twin its like having 2 amps in one and with the schumaker trani it chimes and sounds alot more like the early fender amps
5)-it takes pedals very well because Fender finally reduced the negative feedback and the amp is also more touch sensitive and dynamic-yup it will push your "Top Jimmy" harmonics much easier
6)-when 2 guitars are plugged into the same side input 1 and 2 revert to the same volume level-guitar teachers this means one amp in your room instead of 2
7)-you can A/B box the amp into each side to get 2 different tones and volumes so you can create a clean boost or clean up one side and put a distortion pedal on the other side for solo's or FX
8)-the reverb is lush and the vibrato and depth controls as well as the reverb work on both channels so you can have the bassman or twin circuit with vibrato and reverb.
I cranked it up to 6 on input 1 which is full volume with my strat on the single coils and still got nice punchy clean tones on the twin side-the bassman side had a slight break up in a pleasing cool kinda way. the Humbucker however was breaking up on the bassman side at that point-on the twin side it was only slightly breaking up. It still has plenty of clean headroom you guys-at this volume the glasses on my kitchen counter were vibrating acrossed the counter top and all the picks on the amp had vibrated off the amp and onto the floor. the new amp tags that I had left on the amp for fun were flying up and down as the air from the speaker was pushing them with each chord. plenty of clean headroom on the twin circuit side guys-the bassman side however is breaking up at this point but can be cleaned up with your guitar volume knob easily making for Jeff Beck like distortion type volume swells.
I cant be more happy with this amp, it just kicks @ss. Tunes like Sultans of Swing on this thing sound amazing and my Gretsch White Falcon sounds sweet on the bassman side especially for that rolled off jazz tone. On the Twin side you can really "Hillbilly" it up-not my thing but its there if you really dig that kinda thing.
I keep the volume at 4 and plug into input #2 on ether side of the amp. Input #2 keeps the volume reasonable for practice and opens up the amps tubes to give it a real sweet tone. Pushing the amp around volume 5 or 6 really makes the amp percussive and sweet. Think "Fool for your Stockings" by ZZTop. With Texas Special pickups its really chimey but I turn the treble down to around 6 on my guitar till I want to dig in. then I jack the treble on the guitar all the way up and let it rip for real snap and bite.
I love this amp so far. I hope this helps anyone else out there looking at these amps. I also think the Fender 68 custom deluxe reverb is another classic amp with not quite as many features or headroom but equally great tones.
