In my opinion there is no point in using a fixed, non-adjustable bias if you're building a Deluxe style amp without tremolo. Also, as others have opined in a similar thread recently, I would also utilize tube rather than solid state rectification. As for the 5881s, I think those might be a good choice tonewise if your purpose is to increase headroom without making it as clean as a pair of 6L6s would, but the circuit designed for 6V6s will require modification.

Please be advised that I have no idea what I'm talking about and am only trying to demonstrate the concept of the blind leading the blind.

A 6G3 IS nonadjustible/fixed bias but as soon as you change the bright channel to a blonde Bassman you've sort of runined the amp not to mention it's no longer a brown Deluxe...

The SS rec is overkill IMHO as stock with a GZ34 it's PLENTY solid and the 5881's is a waste in that amp...

I don't know any other way to say this so please don't get offended, just take this as face value and make the most of it.

Your posts make it very clear that you have no idea about tube amp design and it is also very clear that you have very little experience with the amps you keep asking about.

That makes is nearly impossible to choose an amp since you have no idea what you are really looking for. You are just asking blind questions about what changes to make to various amps with no back ground at all.

Why change an amp you've never played through...you might like them as-is!

Get off the forum, walk away form the internet and go play some amps, that is THE ONLY WAY you'll ever know what an amp sounds like and what you like...
