Fender American Deluxe Telecaster body replacement

Hello there! I’ve fallen in rather an oppressive situation. I’ve given the body of my Fender Telecaster American Deluxe Ash Telecaster to a guitar tech in order to refinish it. But, a week ago the body was stolen from a repair shop.

Frankly, I have no hope of obtaining that body again. So my question is: where it is better to buy high-quality bodies for solid body guitars. Who produces them?

I remember Warmoth, Allparts. Who else? Does Fender offer its guitar parts (bodies) by himself?

Thanks.

Hi Peter,

I'm sorry to hear of your situation. Is the repair shop going to replace the body with something of equal value? They should and that's the least they should do; IMO...

Re: Fender American Deluxe Telecaster body replacement

Surely, they will pay for the body. But the body should be bought first. I've found already some genuine Fender Am Dlx bodies (alder and ash) for abut $500.

EBAY is full of american, mexican and japanese real fender bodies. I forgot the store name but there is a guy who is really good. My dad got a jap tele body off him and its great.

One really big eBay seller of parted-out Fenders is STRATosphere; their eBay user name is reliablefender. Link to a sample auction.

I can't vouch for them personally since I haven't bought anything, but they sure have a lot of stuff I'd LIKE to buy.

I used Stratosphere/reliablefender, but have some concerns about their photographs (only one, WTF?) and wasn't satisfied with the packaging (hardware).

I would expect that a USACG or Warmoth body would be better quality at the same price and you can pick more details. I have seen people bash Musicraft for inaccurate work, but as always be careful with this kind of second-hand information (it would be third hand for you).

However, if you ever want to resell the sucker then you must have a Fender body. A "Fender" is much better resell wise than a "Warmoth body with Fender neck".

Aren't they covered under an insurance policy?

Warmoth, USACG, Christopher Woods (does some body replacements for Fenders as well as Ibanez and ESP guitars) and then there is good old ebay. Good luck and sorry for the hastle mate.
