Just picked one of these up today as a Father's day present to myself

It actually sounds pretty good but I hate the zebra pu in this guitar. What were they thinking? It has the s1 switching that allows you to split the hb and get nice strat tones in mid/bridge position.
From what I've read, for this spltting to work well you need a fairly strong HB (around 12k or higher). Of course, this will make it louder when in non-split mode, bridge only. I wouldn't mind a bit more output on the bridge but nothing too radical.
Any suggestions on one that might split well? An added bonus would be one with an antiqueish white cover that would match the existing colors.
Thanks,
Rut
