Anyone played one yet? I'm thinking about possibly picking one up later this month.

I've played a music man with a rosewood neck before and liked it...

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

Interesting. How's rosewood in comparison to maple, brighter or darker sounding?

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

Yeah , I have a Warmoth Rosewood ( Ziricote fretbaord) neck on a Walnut body.
Its going to be like Mocha Chocalate- it will give you some dark, warm, sweet , and rich overtones. Alder is a balanced sounding wood, and is a good body to mate with an all rosewood neck .

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

I'm in love. I need it so badly. I'm actually so salty that it's a limited edition and I'll never be able to justify the funds by the time it's gone. Bahhh.

Of course, there is always chance to get a piece that is not quite like the others but rosewood is usually much darker than maple. Maple is generally one of the brightest sounding woods available. Rosewood is generally one of the darkest sounding woods.

To the OP. I have an all Indian rosewood neck (unfinished too!) on a Warmoth. It's a beautiful neck, great feel and great tone. I am a big fan of rosewood necks.

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

I built a rosewood neck strat about 10 years ago or so. It has been my number 1 since then, and probably always will be. Much richer tone than regular maple neck in a strat IME. Better sustain. Excellent tuning stability. Feels great to play.

I highly recommend anybody get one.

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

I saw one of those strats yesterday at the nearby GC, didn't get a chance to play it though

EBMM has been making guitars with rosewood necks for a bit now... I actually really like them in comparison to their maple or maple/rosewood fretboard counterparts. The tone is a bit deeper, and richer - not much but you can tell the difference.

Is that logo CNC'd into the headstock or is it a decal?

It's carved (i forget the wording they use) into the headstock.

You're the one calling people names. I still have no idea why you are posting in this thread.

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

I actually just tried one of those the other day. Short answer: Get it.

Re: Fender American Standard Rosewood Neck Strat

rosewood is my standard neck of choice on all guitars I build.
