Fender Bass Breaker 45

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I'm really excited to check these out because it's always been sort of a hole in their line.

They used to have the early 90's Bassbreaker which was a Bassman with two V30's, but these new ones are purely British in nature. Plus, Marshalls like these are way overpriced.

I'm so glad they're doing them in black tweed too.
Black tweed looks even better lacquered, which some people may do to theirs.

My store has the lowest wattage combo... it's pretty cool. You can tell it wants pedals to be plugged into it. Definitely a cool new direction for Fender.

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

The 45w combo will be in my collection after Christmas is over and I am able to spend again..

I was really looking at the new Blackstar Artist 15 but this just trumped that by leaps and bounds..
This will nail every tone that emerged from the British blues explosion and many other classic tones..

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I'm more interested in the 18/30 version, on paper at least. But demos are yet to be found. Anxiously awaiting them.

Yeah, I looked at all the retailers many places wont get the 45s until January 2016. I didnt check on the 18/30.
That 45 has my attention with 1 to 45 watt capability like my EVH does..

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I haven't looked on Fender's website, but the overview on Musician's Friend's site indicates dual EL34s in the "features" section and dual EL84s in the specification.

This is actually the reason I have gone unsane.

These are pretty sweet too, they are a mix of Fender 6L6 cleans and Vox chime.
I was originally looking at this but the Bass Breaker has my attention..
I need something for a pedal based roots rock and country rock type gig with some classic covers thrown in..
Like Mellancamp to Skynyrd and modern country rock.. Strat,Tele,Les Paul with some grit and some twangy cleans..
I may just say screw it and buy both. I really like both of them..

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I had a Bassbreaker tweed a long time ago. That 18/30 looks like it wants to be a Vox/Matchless

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

if that 18/30 had reverb id be all over it. the bf deluxe sounds like a wimpier bf deluxe reverb

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I really don't use much reverb so that's not a deal breaker for me. I'm still on the fence about it.
I love that new Blackstar Artist 15 and 30 series too.

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

I have a 45/1 head and it rocks! Both channels break up about 4.5 on the volume (with a les Paul) especially if you use the both input. The output selector works really well too. I get good tones at living room volume even through a Marshall 1965 cab. Not a high gain amp by any means but if you like thick natural overdrive or a nice pedal platform this is a great anp. I saw a video where a fender rep said the 45 was the only model with a 59 bassman tone stack for what it is worth. I love mine, my band just did a Soundgarden Tribute show and this had all the low end I needed!

Re: Fender Bass Breaker 45

This amp has kind of been on the radar for a little while now. Really dig this whole line but the 18/30 and the 45 are both really impressive.

KC have you been gigging with yours?
