Fender Deluxe Players Strat

Greetings All,

Was checking one of these out at GC. Was thinking of upgrading my standard MIM strat with one of these. Really like the pickup switch that activates the rear pickup in the 4 and 5 position, plus the vintage noiseless pickups are ok to.

Anybody own one of these? Would love to hear comments about it.

You could easily do the switching mod to your current guitar. I would replace the Volume pot with a push pull pot wired to your bridge pickup. When you pull the pot the bridge pickup turns on. In position 4 all three pickups would be on and in position 5 the neck and the bridge pickups are on, I like this sound alot. As far as the vintage noiseless goes, you would be better off getting some Duncans.

That would be a great upgrade. This model replaced the old Deluxe Super Strat. I had one of those, I really dig the new Player Strat. You get more than an upgrade of pickups with this model. It's inthe Deluxe line which means that although it's still MiM, it uses standard sized bridge parts and an upgraded trem block. You can swap any US Fender vintage-style or equivalent replacement bridge on the Deluxe series. Standard MiM Strats have a unipue undersized bridge. You'll also get a better neck, ash body, and vintage Klusen style tuners. It's a nice upgrade all around.
