Fender guru's . . .

. . . can i get away with the above statement ???

Is it safe to say (without being stoned to death by Fender elite'ests) that a Deluxe Reverb is "kinda" a quarter-power Twin Reverb ?

So, if a Twin Reverb is WAaaaaaay to powerfull for a small club, can a Deluxe Reverb fill the shoes of a Twin, just on a smaller scale ?

In other words, a DRRI is to clubs what a Twin Reverb is to Stadiums !

Thanx to all !
;)

i am not an amp guru but......i own a DRRI and i can say that.....different power tubes (6V6 vs 6L60) give a different kind of sound.....furthermore the DRRI breaks up quite easily and on the other hand twin are known for the fact that they are ultra clean, even at high volumes. I also find that the DRRI has a different flavor to its tone comparing it to a twin

if you say that you will get stoned for sure.

having said that, if you play a twin for big shows or outdoors a deluxe will give you a similar fendery tone at a much lower volume

THE DRRI has enough volume to play small gigs and if you are miking the amp you can even play medium sized gigs. The difference between the DRRI and a Twin is huge. The Twin is very loud and very clean. Very difficult amp to GIG with mainly because of the vloume. The DRRI is difficult to keep clean. The amp begins to break up at about 4. With HB pickups like a Les Paul they tend to make the bottom mushy, but this can be remedied with a good speaker upgrade. Both amps take pedals well. To just compare the difference of these amps based on the wattage is a poor interpretation of these amps. They are vastly different from each other in tone as well as how you will use them.
