Fender Esquire Custom GT

Is it a good guitar? It's one of Fender's 'cheapos' but hey, who said you need to spend $2000 on a good guitar? I was thinking of getting one, swap the Invader for a JB, rout another humbucker in the neck, and bingo, a guitar I can be happy with.

Esquire Custom GT

Re: Fender Esquire Custom GT

I've played one and it was a decent guitar. For the price, I'd say it's a pretty good deal. If you're up for routing it and the whole nine yards, I say go for it ;)

Re: Fender Esquire Custom GT

i think butnut has one and he seems really happy with it...and he's a tele fanatic...!!!

Re: Fender Esquire Custom GT

I don't think Brian (butnut) has one though he has a customized Esquire he made.

I think they are very cool guitars. They're very light with a slightly thinner than normal body. A lot os snap and punch, they have Duncan Designed pups so they sound decent right off the hook but stock pickups are never a reason not to buy an axe. If you like them, there is nothing wrong with them, go for it. If you are going to rout a neck bucker why don't you just look for one of the other guitars in that line that has 2 pups, there are a few, not with the graphics though.

I will take a look at the other models. The only thing is that, if I'm not mistaken, the Custom GT is the only Tele that's not 24 fret and I don't want 24 frets cause of the whole neck bucker harmonic thing.

Sounds cool, you could put a 59 or a jb in the bridge and it would SMOKE!
A JB is definately going in!

But anyway, yeah I'll be looking in the Esquire line for a new toy.
