Fender frontman 15G mods

Hi guys,

mentioned I own a 15G in the micro terror thread.

Now, I like dabbling in electronics, I aint big on it but I like doing little mods and alterations and I wondered that despite the 15G being a crappy little amp from china, would there be any mods I could do to it for electronics practice?

I have been reading up and it seems that I could get a more fendery tone out of it and make it louder by playing with the op amps. they seemed to pick a peculiar set up for the circuits used.

Any ideas?

If you replaced every single component, the amp might have half a chance of sounding good. By the same token, that would give it half a chance of still sounding like horse manure.

best analysis ever.

I know its a POS but still Seen the odd vid kicking around youtube and threads around the web, seems that if you chop it down to an amp head, and plug it into a different cabinet it can sound nice. Primarily, the clipping diodes need changing and the chips, if I can get away with it.

all the Reverb holes are on the PCB, it just wasn't a Reverb version of the amp but they used the same PCB so I may give that a go.
