Fender HH 5way super switch solder wiring help!!

Re: Fender HH 5way super switch solder wiring help!!

thought id go ahead and color it after updated it.. Easier to read. This is the way I try to draw them up but as I said.. was in eating + i was a bit lazy.. easier to read with color and an explanation of what the switch or switches do IMO

(of course, I'd expect nothing less!)

When I did this, I had to flip a magnet to get the right coils to split (inside/outside) and remain hum-cancelling.

i know your comment is directed at the op.. but i thought id respond
i have no experience with flipping magnets or magnetic polarity but thanks for the tip.. all the pieces are starting to gel..I think i have a pretty solid understanding of how a guitars wiring works... once I understand magnets/palarity better, i will be a living god, and people will worship idols erected of my likeness.. MUHAHAHA (maniacal laugh) .. "The streets will truly run red with the blood of the non-believers" (boasting while stroking my kitteh of world conquest .. OREO)

yep... based on the ^^ it must be assumed that im out of smoke atm

my favorite guitar sounds like its OOP when i have the bridge and neck single on at the same time.. An accident but a pleasant one that just has that "sound", that just sounds right sometimes.. "cocked wah".. so i kept my wiring as-is

Re: Fender HH 5way super switch solder wiring help!!

Next question is there 4 wire with bare ground (in total 5 wires I suppose ) is there any wire I can salvage from other products like old microphone cable or similar to use to replace short lead wires to re solder pickup ? I've heard people using usb cables and doubling them up because there a bit thin but I don't like that

ANY ONE KNOW SOME GOOD WIRE I CAN CUT FROM AN OLD CABLE TO USE FOR
SOME DUNCAN pup( 4 wire with bare Ground) ?

Any thing I can repurpose and recycle ?

not sure why you you would want too.. i can kinda see using a shielded cable if there was single coils involved.. not so important with humbuckers

scratch that^^ just re-read your post..
not sure on the wire.. If it was me, I would just buy a 4 conductor shielded wire from a place that sells wire.. splice and solder the wires and use heat shrink tubing to finish it up.. i prefer new wire most of the time unless its just a short jumper because its possible used wire might not be the best for keeping out noise.. might actually make noise seep into the signal.. not saying it will but the possibility does exist

but if your broke ,your going to have to make do with whatever is available.. no suggestions but others might chime ijn

That's ok, I am sure you understand about wiring and switches more than I do. I just learn enough to wire up my own projects, and if I get stuck, I post a question here like everyone else. I really should sit down and learn more of the electronic/switch theory one day.

ahh.. well. not to think myself too highly or anything but i never or very rarely ask questions here or any where else.. only as a last resort after i have exhausted my own research attempt.I will add that i have an unfair advantage too as I have a degree in electronics. Im pretty rusty on alot of it as I haven't used the stuff i learned in over 6 years but it does help understanding the way everything works together

this attitude isnt because i think myself above such action or that im in some way superior but this attitude came from my college days.. Only person I could rely on was myself during test as the people that might have the answer to help me on labs and homework would not be able to assist on the test..indeed, i consider drawing/wiring up guitars or setting them up as test..

edit>> ill add i dont look down on others for asking for help.. or anything like that..

D*mnit i hate doing a correction but im pretty sure i have the 5 way wired backwards..sometimes I get confused a bit I guess. I think ill make a small label on my switch object so it doesnt happen again

since im never wrong by default I must be always correct..I can be mistaken from time to time though,so i blame senility . thats my story and im sticking to it..LMAO

take that universe:werd:
