I have the DLX 2x12 retube the whole thing, and if you have the know how and means look into a speaker swap. I put V30's and new tubes and the cleans are better than ever, it has the Fender bell tone. Theres mods for it and websites to mod it, dont give up on the hot rod theres potential in it.

C'mon guys, where your community spirit? What about ditching the overdrive channel and useing an SFX-03?

I haven't tried an SFX-03 in front of a HRD. Have you?

I HAVE, however, put a DS-1 in front of one, and the results were very good.

I play a sfx-03 in front of a blues junior, which is kinda the little brother of the HRD and I love the tones I can get. I use the rhythm channel for a light OD and the lead channel for a heavier almost distortion OD sound.
