Fender import bridge question

So I bought an import bridge that was said to be 2 1/16 for fender import bodies with the narrow spacing. When it arrived today it was nowhere close to lining up. If I Lined the bridge up to the string thru holes the mounting holes were way below where they should have been and are too wide apart. My question is are there several different import bridges that are 2 1/16 spacing available and if so how do you know which to buy?

Re: Fender import bridge question

That's a nice bridge but it's for a strat and I have a blacktop tele. Sorry I should have stated that

GFS makes a drop in mim and import bridge for like $45.
They get pretty good reviews and you can choose between brass and steel.
I'm getting ready to buy one for an mim I'm hot rodding and adding stainless saddle to it.

I also have two of the Tele bridges. They are drilled to work on 3 or 4 hole mounts, string through bodies or rear loading. Babicz gave all of my guitars a great boost in tone. The guitar is much fuller and I am getting more sustain. The bridge is also very comfortable to play, the set screws dont grind into your hand.

I checked those out, they are beautiful bridges. I am adhering to this pawn shop price rule on this Strat, I wanna go cheap as possible.
That would look beautiful on my Strat though..

Re: Fender import bridge question

I want middle of the road. Not cheap and impossible to intonate nor do I wish to go top of the line ..I want a reliable, well built strong bridge. Does fender make an American bridge that will fit this spacing?
