Fender Jazz V issues-would like some insight

Re: Fender Jazz V issues-would like some insight

I'll be quite shocked if you don't notice a dramatic improvement.

But in case you have a persisting problem with an anemic E string, try the steel-round E with nickle-round everything else, and see if it helps. (I know you mentioned an anemic B string, not E string, but even so, the trick might come in handy.)

I got the new strings in last night and I'm going to try to change them tonight. I think for my own OCD I'm going to try a few runs in Pro Tools to compare them to my current set (IF my 7 month old lets me, lol). I've been looking for a solution to this problem for awhile. If this doesn't work I'm going shopping. ;-)

What strings did you get?

XL Pro Steels 130-100-80-65-45

I am going to put the low string on first and see how they match the current strings I am using (EB round wounds) as suggested by BlueTalon.

I used to have a Yamaha RBX tuned EADGC. The string tension felt good on all five. I found it especially well suited to Claypool-esque "bass and double stops Rhythm at the same time" styles. Two-handed, faux Chapman Stick playing also worked pretty well.

I seem to recall stringing with a pre-packed 40-100 set and buying a .030 or .028 singly to go on the C.
