Fender Jazzmaster FS

Will trade for a Gibby Faded SG special or Epi/tokai/burny LPs.

I've had the Jazzmaster for about a year. Never gigged, spent most of it's life in a gig bag.

Nice resonant body, sounds great unplugged and all the tonal options are great when plugged into an amp.

One small ding (pic 3) an questions feel free to ask.

Looking for $475 plus shipping.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster FS

MIM or MIJ? Is the bridge one of the newer types that have saddles with slots for strings or is the vintage type with multiple grooves? I never knew what all the switches and wheels did on the Jazzmaster, can you give a simple explanation? Lastly what pickups are in this, Fender AVRIs?

Here's a PDF of the controls:

I so wish I had some worthy trade bait for that that I could actually part with...

Re: Fender Jazzmaster FS

Thanks for the PDF. All this time I figured all the rollers and switches were some cryptic tone mods Fender did back then. All it is is separate neck vol/tone and a pickup selector switch. Not even sure what the purpose is as it's redundant to the ones already on the guitar, only it's closer to the neck pickup so I guess the roller knobs would be somewhat useful. Not sure I would use those more than the traditional vol/tone 3 way switch as I use on my Blacktop Jazzmasters.

MIM classic players jazzmaster, has the newer tune-o-matic bridge. Any more questions feel free to ask.

Re: Fender Jazzmaster FS

I checked the Fender specs and it says "Special Design" Hot Jazzmaster single coil pickups for neck and bridge. I wonder if these are ceramics or alnicos, and how different they sound from the neck pickup in the Blacktop Jazzmaster which is ceramic and doesn't sound too bad.
