The Champion series was awesome cuz it sounds like the mustang amps but it just sticks the amp models on a rotary knob, the fx level and adjust on two more knobs, and no you can't deep edit but in reality there's a couple amp models in there I like, and the ones I dont like, well I had a Mustang I and no amount of deep edits could save the models I wasnt digging!

Technology is great but so is "set it and forget it"

I have a Super Champ XD FSR. I bought it to be the backup to my DRRI Reissue FSR, which I have since sold (and regret). The cleans on the SC XD are decent I guess. But not in the same universe as the DRRI. And the OD tones aren't any more inspiring.

Between my Helix and two Friedmans, the SC XD is just gathering dust right now. Actually... I've got my Fishman acoustic amp sitting on top of it, so it's at least useful for something. Fender does Fender very well, but they've never done Marshall very well. I'll pass on any of the Mustangs.

You’ve still got an H9...

The H9 requires authentication to connect to it. Each one broadcasts a spesific id.

Can't you just turn bluetooth off when going to a gig?

From what I read if you turn off the BT you loose the advance features. You know advanced features like me blasting a porn clip through your amp at 100w at cousin Betsy's wedding in the local VFW hall.

You need Fuse software to edit cab models in Mustang. Turning all them off and adding jack to connect it to a proper cab makes huge difference to tone quality.

I'd much prefer all the controls to be in amp control panel too. Yamaha THR100 (to my knowledge) has the same approach too.

I've tried running my Champion 20 Deluxe Reverb setting into my Supersonic 22 cab and speaker. The tonality and EQ shape is there but notes don't jump and sparkle. So I know what you mean. I have since turned my Champion into a 1x8 cab for late night practice using the supersonic LOL

Yup. Perfect way to put it. The Champ just doesn't have any life to it. At least not compared to the Deluxe or Twin Reverbs that I had. Too bad, as it's quite a good-looking, handy little amp. If I was going to pull out the big jazz box in a tiny little club setting, the Champ might work for that since one normally rolls off the sparkle for jazz anyways. And that's kind of what I pictured using it for anyhow. But still... it would bug me that I wasn't using a Deluxe and I'd have to get another. Wish I hadn't let that Deluxe FSR go. I don't regret selling either of the Twins (one a TRRI and the other a Supersonic) so much, but I regret letting the Deluxe go. I WILL have another! Mwah ha ha ha!!!
