Fender Mustang Neck Question.?

Any Fender knowledgeable people out there that could help I appreciate it. I've played a Fender Mustang at Sam Ash, it felt different then any other Fender neck I've ever played
, strat or otherwise. Are Fender Mustang necks different from other Fenders? Or do you think I was playing a Guitar with a custom neck? I've played, jazzmasters, Jaguars, Jagstands and they didn't feel the same, The Jaguar I played hugged my hands, almost as if the neck was bowed a little. But in a good way.

Re: Fender Mustang Neck Question.?

Fender Mustang necks are of a shorter scale length than most other models. (Over the years, the Mustang and Duo-Sonic have been offered in both 24" and 22".) On a vintage American piece, the fingerboard radius should be 7.25". Modern re-issue variants may employ something shallower.

Hence, you need to specify exactly which variant you tried in the shop.

I played about ten guitars that day so I don't remember a lot about it except it was a Mustang and its was $549.00, so it must of been used. I confident it wasn't the pawn shop series, I guess I'll have to wait until I come across another one to.find out. When I went back to the store it was sold, and the only other detail I remember is it wasn't a maple fret board.

Re: Fender Mustang Neck Question.?

or at that price it was an MIJ reissue of the 62 model.... or 65 can't remember which they make now...

Re: Fender Mustang Neck Question.?

$549 and rosewood 'board point towards a MIJ or MIM vintage-style re-issue.

If you managed to find a genuine American example for that price, AZ would probably want to kill you.

what colour was it, if you remember, and also, random question, did it have like a 'go faster' sports car stripe on it?

That's what I'm thinking now, because there are not a lot of options in that price range. Comparing a Mustang to a Les Paul is apples and oranges. There are countless cheap Les Pauls I know Because I'm new to Fender, I've been collecting Les Pauls since 1992. But the Mustangs in that price range are VERY limited.
