I have a graphtech acousticphonic board in my parts box and i am considering doing something like this with it. Has anyone tried anything similar?

Re: Fender Nylon String Stratocaster

no but this is making me miss playing classical guitar :(

Yeah me to. I think i may make one in the future from a strat kit. Not sure how the tremolo would go with nylon strings. Also you would think there would be a lot of wrapes around the pegs because of stretch hmmmm either way i want one.

Re: Fender Nylon String Stratocaster

you'd probably have to tie it on similar to how classical guitars are strung. Would be interesting to see how string tension plays a role in that kinda setup, cuz the tension that nylon strings exert is dramatically lower than electric strings. It'd probably be like putting on a set of 7's or 6's

"Here is the intro for a song called Black Star from the album Rising Force. It's sort of, ah, in a classical vain -

- I wrote it though."

hahahaha!

I think that nylon string piezo sounds much better than many steel string piezo systems.

Yeah true that. My mate has a shadow guitar the piezo and its good but i think with the nylon string it would feel more natural with that sound. Finger picking would be smooth as on a fender neck with nylons.

I played a Chet Atkins years ago and still long to have one. It was one of the best guitars I have ever played. I have a pezio on my nylon string guitar but the action is horrible. It does sound pretty good for slide and country blues.

Those were great guitars, I always loved the steel string version. I ended up picking up an Epi a yer or so ago when I stumbled across one that was cheap.

Re: Fender Nylon String Stratocaster

Yngwie is using ball-end nylons on the Strat, like the Gibson Chet Atkins in the pic above.

There's also the long defunct Parker Fly Concert. Solid spruce body.

I have played the Epiphone version I would be more than happy with one. That parker looks cool as hell. Now if someone could find a way to combine the nylon sound and magnetic pickups that would be a feat.

I must put this out there to you guitar-geeks on the forum. Is there a way I could transform my B.C. Rich acoustic from a steel string to a nylon without screwing up the neck tension and action?

Man beleve in yourslef and you can achieve anything lol. I think you could do it but it would require a fresh setup.
