Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

I won't check it out .. At at a price only about a 100 bucks less than the BF Twin Reverb reissue, I don't want to be tempted. ;)

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

But they are 2 different amps intended for different purposes.

Dude, I meant that I don't want to have a € 1.300 gas if I try it and like it. I never have gas for anything except if it's something really neat, in which case I ALWAYS end up buying it, no matter what.
This happens only once or twice every five years and this gizmo has all the potential of making me spend money I don't have. ;)

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

i have not seen one of these in person yet.... but reading the features in the new Fender Frontline EXtra booklet it looks really cool!!!!

Built in Power Soak, Overdrive and Comp pedal circuits, direct out.... all ontop of the 65 Princton circuit... man that sounds good!!!!!! maybe a a real winner for home pratice and recording, plus it may very well have some balls for jamming with a bigger 8 ohm cab.....

I wish I had a twin to ditch ! ;) or the BACKBREAKER as I call 'em. :D

But it seems to me a Deluxe Reverb or any nice little amp and a good attenuator would give you much of the same ? So it hasn't got any effects built in, big deal ! You can throw your own pedals at it. :)

Help me try and rationallize here, I don't want to buy the Fender PRA ! :D

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

I like that powerdown thing, the effects are just an extra plus, and you can always add your own, and I am no big fan of the Deluxe...they always where too farty for me!
The Princeton sounds more firm!

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp - has anyone tried one yet?

The store I used to hang out at had an old Princeton in it. One day a friend and I were talking about how our pedals always sounded better in the store than they did at home. After thinking about it for a bit we realized that he always plugged us into the same amp....a Princeton. Well, putting two and two together I ran down to the store only to find it sold the day before.

Those amps are a gem.

I think that it is a cool little thing that they made there!!
Makes one wish that we had done that same:D
I think that I should talk to our amp wiz, about a such device for my AC-15 clone head:D

This little Fender and all the other nice little tube amps below 25 Watt makes one wonder, why the heck did Marshall re-issue the 100 Watt JCM 900 dual fuzzhead and not the Studio 15 ! :yell:
