Fender Princeton Recording Amp

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp

i'm still waiting for one to come in stock to try it out... Not sure if i'll grab one anytime soon as the new Traynor Special Custom head has my eye... But this Fender would be great for my bedroom rig

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp

For $1000 it doesn't matter how good it is.

The built in attenuator is cool but only a 10inch speaker...?

Re: Fender Princeton Recording Amp

I'd love to try one out. Looks like a great idea to me!

But for the price, if I was serious about home recording, I'd get a nice 1-12" combo and one of those recording boxes that you can put your amp inside and close the door, with the mic inside.

. . . well, think about it, this way !

Many folks prefer the Fender Pro Jr. over the biger Blues Jr. (tone wise) and they all think it has to do with the 10incher (in the PJ) sounding better than the 12" :11:

Maybe this 10" speaker might do the same for this baby, although there will be no 12inch ver. to AB it against !

Afterthought :

. . . 'IF' you are a "bedroom player only", and 'IF' you have the money to burn, this just might be the Ultimate bedroom amp !

ANY THOUGHTS ON THIS CONCEPT/IDEA ? ? ?

Does it really matter if it's a bad idea or not, isn't tone in your heart and hands? ;)

To be honest though I think that Fender has defiled the Princeton name in the last 15 years. Bring back the Tweed, or Reverb.

Bravo!! My thoughts exactly. This IS NOT a real Princeton. For some reason they decided to put that name on it, but for what reason??? I dunno!!!

I tend to agree with that... I think it would be... BUT...

Surely it would be cheaper to get the blues jr or blues pro, change the speaker + get a good attenuator + buy a compressor. (which is included in the new princeton)
than to buy this amp!
If you did all that, you would propably be at about $1000 with the speaker of wour choice!
:)
Edit: you wouldn't have the xrl output for studio use though!

btw:
I really doesn't bother me that fender called it princeton. It's obvious that they are doing it for marketing reasons and not anything else.
