Hey folks. I've been looking at a Fender Prodigy on the wall of a pawnshop for the last year or two. He wants $500 Canadian for it, but I tried it out today on the pretense of trying out a pedal, and told him he was asking too much for it, but that I'd give him $300. He told me to check back tomorrow.
I know these are going for about $2-300 on ebay, so it wouldn't be a losing proposition at that price, and it actually felt kind of nice when I played it, but do these guitars have any sort of achilles heel? I know that the "Made in USA" is a half truth (it's either Japanese parts made in America or vice versa, if I recall correctly), but are there any other major problems? I've been thinking I could make it into my "metal" strat-type thing. :>
