Fender Prosonic Combo?

Re: Fender Prosonic Combo?

The 2x10 is great. I used one in a demo session once and thought it was awesome. I also gigged the same amp the following NYE and it performed awesome. The thing can get a lot of different tones. The cascading gain controls were really fun to play with.

Re: Fender Prosonic Combo?

Thanks for the info, how were the bass/mids compared to 12"speakers? What guitars were you using? I'm going to run up to my buddy's shop and try my LP through his head again to get the tone fresh in my mind.

Anyone know what these should be running price wise in very good condition?

Re: Fender Prosonic Combo?

Thats my current amp right now, I just picked up the 2x10 about a month ago, sounds great love the rectifier selector knob in the back. As far as the mid/highs there more pronounced and less bassy than the 12" due to the smaller size, they come stock with celestion vintage 30s'. I bought mine at a used shop great condition no tears tubes working just fine, the dealer was asking $699 for it (which is still cheap compared for what I've seen them for on evil-bay) but I talked his down to $450. I've seen them on evil-bay for $700 - $1000 and if its the custom shop model I've seen them for $1200 +

Hope this help.

Oh I run my Strat w/ '69 pups through it and my 76 Les Paul Deluxe through it, both sound great, the amp handles both guitars very well and lets thier "personality" come through very well.

I had a new one a few years ago. It was awesome sounding, but too powerfull for me. I since only use 15 watts or less, and the ProSonic was 60.

Re: Fender Prosonic Combo?

At that time I was mostly using Les Pauls and strats. I thought the tens sounded awesome in that thing. The sound was really ballsy. It convinced me that if I ever wanted to buy another Marshal type amp (I had a beat up plexi at the time) I would forget buying a Marshall and go with a Prosonic.

If my memory serves Bruce Zinky designed the Prosonic as well as my favorite Fender the VibroKing.
