Which is best for that 70s hard rock strat through a cranked marshall sound like deep purple, rainbow and trower?

Fender pure vintage 65 set, texas special set or c69 set

Some have said the 65 set and c69 sound the same, some say the 69 bridge is to thin and crap for classic hard rock.

I have owned TS and 69. Never tries the 65s.

69s are bright and spanky with plenty of cut. The bridge can be icepicky...I urge you to connect the 2nd tine pot to it! The middle pickup in the 69 set is not reversed si they hum in all 5 positions.

Texas Specials are loud and dark. Unless you have a super bright guitar and anp, I would not recommend them. On the other hand, the middle pickup is RwRp.

Have not tried the CS69, but I think the 65 will get what you wanted. They are my favourite Fender strat pickups.

Classic rock sounds perfect for the Texas specials, according to the above post

texas specials are great especially with a dirty amp.
but
like deep purple, rainbow
ritchie blackmore uses quarter pounders

having said all that, single coils into a cranked marshall are going to be pretty noisy, so it might be worth your while to look at a noiseless set like the YJM furies.

I should clarify:
Duncan Texas Hot != Fender Texas Specials

Fender Texas Specials have the output, but they are dark on the top end. Satisfactory, but not the best.
Duncan Texas Hots have the right amount of output and are clear. They are the reason I began to only use Duncans in my guitars originally.
