Wow I just saw this and would like to clear it up.
This started out as a smooth transaction where I sold this guitar to a memeber on HC User Forums. I had an issue at first which resulted in me sending it a week late, it was a hectic time with my family. I sent the guitar UPS and with everything going on, misplaced the tracking number. Finally I get it from the store I shipped it, and assumed at this point he had probably had the guitar.
I go online to tell mr. buyer, and plastered all over the threads is how I'm such a cheat, and how I stiffed him. A couple days later I have the sheriff not even knocking on my door, on my mom's door, asking about a guitar and she calls me. At this point UPS has had this guitar for a while. I call them up, and find out it was returned to the UPS Store I shipped it out of as it was undeliverable for some reason (he gave me the wrong address maybe?, obviously this guy called the sheriff on my mom, I'm not speaking to him anymore). I go and sure enough there is my guitar. And I apparently am not owed a refund because I put the wrong address.
At no point throughout this process was I PM'ed asking where the guitar was. It went from "Here's my address" to me being flamed on forums, and the sheriff at my door.
So yes, I understand he might have felt stiffed, before I could send the payment back the charges were reversed and I get to pay a 10 dollar fee on top of that.
So because I shipped a guitar out a week late due to family issues, and UPS is never getting my business again, I sold a guitar for $200, paid $80 to ship to Canada where this guy lived, lost $210 to paypal, and am now considered a liar and thief to a forum I have been a member of since 2004.
Believe me or not, I had to speak my piece.

The guy posted several weeks later and you never bothered to respond to the thread on HC. This just seems odd. Why was the guitar returned to the UPS store? After this clusterf*ck, I would have demanded an answer from UPS and relayed that info to the buyer. You dropped the ball on this one regardless if it was your fault or not.

Have you re-read the HC thread, the guy was calling you (where you promptly HUNG UP ON HIM) texting you and sending PMs and you blew him off. No wonder he was trashing you on the forum. And the reversing the paypal thing, I call BS as he paid by Paypal gift where it isn't possible to reverse the charges. He did mention he was going to have to wait 30 days and I hope he did get his money back as I would have been just as pissed as he was. Something doesn't add up just reading both threads and you were nowhere to be found once you had the cash. That to me says you were scamming the guy.

I didn't have his phone number, if I get a call from a private number or number I don't know I don't answer it, a lot of people do that
And I never received any texts mentioning the guitar or anything so I do not know where you are getting this info. HC is blocked on my work internet so I can't see and I don't have internet at home, so I'll have to try it at a friends last I checked it was just a bunch of idiots commenting on my pictures from facebook he oddly posted on there.
And no, the last PM i received from him was the info regarding his supposed address.
Yes it was gift option but it must have been with a credit card because it shows it was contested by the card company, which is the result of this extra fee.

As of the end of April which was way beyond 30 days after buyer sent you money, the buyer never received a refund. You said the guitar turned up a week later at the UPS store. So you must be lying about him getting Paypal charges reversed in aq week as it is not possible to do that from paypal gift within a week. Even if you weren't scamming this guy straight out, he never got refunded until at least after April 20th, so I am guessing you got the cash and if the guitar returned to you, you never bothered to contact the buyer to tell him this information. Your lack of internet access should have been a warning sign to yourself not to transact in any internet transactions. For you to come back here several months later to me shows your irresponsibility.

I don't know any exact dates to be honest so I don't know where you're getting a week into april. I don't know paypal's policy all I know is that when I went to check my paypal account it was -$210, the 200 plus a $10 fee. And it showed a contested credit card payment. And once again, I don't recall the dates of this paypal is blocked on my work computer as well.
Like I said, it was going fine until my family problems hit and ups screwed me over. I had debt from my family problems that I needed the cash. The fastest way to get it, was to sell some gear on a website...my bad? I'm just trying to let people know I had no malicious intent to steal or anything, and in the end I was the one who got screwed.

Where were YOU for that month this guy was up in arms about getting screwed after sending you $200 paypal gift and you failed to get in touch with him. Sorry about the family problems, but for you to not inform the buyer after you found out UPS returned the guitar to the UPS store wasn't cool or even double checking with the buyer as in your words you expected it to have been shipped. Had you Pmed him after a week or so to find out he liked the guitar would have done a lot to prevent this screw up.
