Got this up on ebay a few days ago. Very respectable guitar for a Squier. Nice quality. From 1989! Black pickguard, black headstock, black body. Routed for HSS. Floyd II. Great old school shredder. 22 medium jumbo frets. Beautiful playing neck!

Did they have Fender equivalents to these back in 1989? I know they had the HM series but that was a different guitar with no pickguard and a 24 fret neck (awesome guitars I have several), but I don't recall a 22 fretted Floyd equipped Fender at that time. they had the Contemporary Strat but IIRC it had a proprietary trem system called something like tyhe Fender III

Re: Fender Squier Strat HSS w/ Floyd Rose MIK E Series

I found this thread while searching for info on my guitar.

I have the twin to this guitar. This is the only other one I've seen like it so far. Looks like he mentions in the ad the knobs are new, the originals on mine are plain black. It also came with a black whammy bar.

Mine's an E97xxxx serial number as well. Im not so convinced the serial number is accurate for dating these as mine was picked up brand new in Jan of 93' as far as I can remember. Unless Guitar Center is known to hold onto stock for 3+ years or I was younger than I thought.

Im actually looking to sell it as I havent picked up a guitar in years and its collecting dust....If anyone else is interested in one of these.

Yes, it's very possible for a guitar to sit for many years:
a) sit in the Fender warehouse before being purchased by a vendor
b) sit on a showroom before being purchased

My 1996 MIM strat was purchased in Nov 1998 (three years). It wasn't on the floor a week before that because I purchased a rosewood version a week earlier when the guy told me there was no way to get the same guitar with a maple fretboard. A week later this guitar shows up and I tell the @$$ to take back my rosewood and give me the maple.

Other than that, I'd say you should start your own fore sale thread with pictures and a price.

Thanks for the info. I figured they might sit on stock for a little bit but an unusual guitar might sell faster, maybe not.

I will prob start my own thread and list it I was just excited to actually see the same guitar after seeing thousands of the same classic looking Squiers and was compelled to post, Ive been trying to figure out what I have for a while now. I got it for my 12th birthday and didnt know anything about guitars except this one looked cool and I wanted to play.

To be honest I keep going back and forth whether I really want to sell it or start playing again.
