Hello, I have a 2000 Fender American Standard Strat (alder/maple).
I have been barrelling through pickups lately and want to give Duncan one last chance on this guitar. The Guitar has a 2 post wilk, but will soon get a Callahan 6 screw. I know the bridge is part of it- but not all of it. I run the guitar into a Diezel Herbert, a MarkIIC+ and a variety of Vintage Marshalls.
I have an Antiquity Texas Hot in the neck, the stock Fender in the middle, and have rotated the bridge. THE greatest strat I ever played was a 1963 w/ original pickups. It was dark, glassy, tight, Twangy, smooth, chimey and just sooo tasty. This is what I want. I also have to say that my stock Fender Am Std Tele is to die for. It has what I want. It's dark, glassy, tight, responsive, DYNAMIC, and just rips. For a clip of my hands:

Try FUNK.
I need to get that out of my strat.
Quarter pounder- I liked it at first, but I want something darker, strattier, more hollow with a smoother top end. I need some whack.
Then I tried an Antiquity Custom in the bridge. Darker- but had a thin upper end that I found annoying, and the output was too weak for me. I dont need high gain pickups, but by the time I lowered the pup to a level where it got some of the qualities I wanted (a warmer upper end)- it was too plunky.
Now, i have a lil 59. It's nice. But I need something more hollow. I like the output and some of the tightness (could be a touch looser), but want more twant and glass.
What should I do? I have 21 days to swap the 59, so I cant just wait for the bridge to assess the pickup- not to mention I just know it's the wrong one. I was considering the twang banger, duckbucker or maybe going with another company. This might be my last shot with Duncan on strats.
