Fender Strat - High Spec Mexican vs Low end American Special

Re: Fender Strat - High Spec Mexican vs Low end American Special

I like low action (as it can go without buzzing, and I like scalloped necks), so the flatter MIM would be more comfortable to me, providing that the neck itself isn't too thick- I don't like big necks.

I like low action (nowadays), too. I can achieve my desired action on 9.5" radii fretboards, though. (2.5mm 6th string and 2.0mm 1st string last fret)

my Eric Johnson strat has fret board radi of 12. I like a flatter fretboard I like medium action becouse harmonics sound better with a little higher string action. each to their own. many people who shred hard like low action. if you can shred with medium action you get the cool harmonics and shred skills. it takes a little bit longer to fly but I think the trade offs are well work with.

Wonder which model the OP finally bought. I purchased the '17 Deluxe and love it.

I have both the Godin session and just recently bought the Godin progression Plus, both are excellent Strats are highly rated and put both of them up against American made Fender Strats. And their made in Canada not off shore . Also the prices are better.DSC00061.jpgDSC00063.jpgDSCI0467.jpg
