Fender Strat question - Body size

I noticed that some strats appear to have a body that is chunkier, less contoured than the JV I've got. Like the one in this JB clip: http://youtube.com/watch?v=14uFYA_YFVY&mode=related&search=Jeff Beck

I know strats have changed over the years, so what 'era' would the one in the vid be from?

Look for the "original contuor body" decal on the top of the headstock.
I think the one in the video should be a late 80`s or early 90`s american!
