CharlieNC said:yeah, screw USACG and Warmoth. your better off going through a small company luthier and having one totally made by hand. but if you want something relatively cheap that doesn't totally suck, Warmoth is okay. i'm not saying that Warmoth's quality is bad, it's just that they are very limited in how they can produce a neck. And then when you get it, you still need to get the frets leveled and all that stuff, so if you go through one of the small guys, then your neck will be ready when you get it. So really the cost effectiveness of the mass producer shops is kind of out the window when you consider the price of having to actually get your neck in playing condition once you receive it.
just my thoughts, though i'm sure some people wind up with a neck that doesn't need a fret leveling, it is nearly inevitable when you consider the differences in each guitar.

Between Warmoth and USA customs? I'd go w/ USACG no doubt. I've seen alot of POOP come out of Warmoth.
Can you tell us more about yourself?mdelaney said:I'm one of the small guys and we can generally build replacement necks to your specs for close to what you'd pay at Warmoth or USACG. It just depends on who you want to deal with.

Funny you say that. I've spec'd out two guitars from them to compare with Warmoth specs, same wood, same guitar shape, same everything. Warmoth came out cheaper. A regular boat contour tele maple/maple neck from Warmoth is cheaper than USACG. I have a spreadsheet laying everything out. What I do like from Warmoth is they will install the nut for a small fee and it'll still cheaper. Of course, the costs will change on options choosen from both places. The Standard Tele body (ash or alder) is the same price from either place.FretFire said:Twice now I've spec'd out the same neck from both places and USA has come out $50-100 cheaper.
