If you're prepared to, then lower the string guage. On some guitars, it makes it sound awful, but with a Fender Strat, it just adds to the clunky, twangyness that a lot of players use Strats for.
I found this out by accident the other day, I meant to buy some 10-46s, but bought 9-42s instead. While I can't play aggressive power chordy stuff, I can get some great twangy cleans.
