Fender Super 112

Anyone have any experience with the Fender Super 112 amp? It is a 60 watt tube amp. There seems to lack any info on this amp in the world wide web.
How does it compare to what Fender carries now?

I used one of these for a few years, and can say that it's a nice amp, but you should put a new volume pot on both the clean and gain channel.

The original design uses a linear taper pot for both spots, and so the amp goes from quiet to blisteringly loud in one notch of volume...between 2 and 3. With a good audio taper pot, you can turn the knobs up way higher before you get to those levels.

Otherwise, they sound nice and chimy, and the gain side is a nice crunch.

it's a very dated lead sound. 90's metal, i think. i don't recall any complaints about reliability. might want to keep your fave pedal handy.

My buddy's uncle is selling one. I haven't heard it but he says it just needs new tubes. Just wondering if it's sound is worth investing in. He is selling for $200. It is either that or a fender blues deluxe.

Howdy,

I've had mine for 18 years now. It's needed just one repair in that time. Best clean tone I've ever heard. The gain channel is only for Bees-in-a-jar Heavy Metal, if that's your thing. I use mine strictly for clean tones, where she really shines.

I have a Fender Bandmaster Super 60, which, from what I can tell from digging around on this site: http://www.ampwares.com/fender.asp it seems to be similar.

Nice Fender cleans, and the OD channel is one of the better Fender ODs, although I am not familiar w/the Super Sonic series. It isn't a fantastic OD sound, but it is quite usable for some styles that don't require high gain. It can get buzzy fast, though, if you go past noon on the gain control.

A good OD pedal in front of the clean channel is great.
