I have a Splattercaster that I love and get tons of compliments on. Yea, she's Mexican and I swapped out her electronics but a pretty guitar is a pretty guitar!!

That was his first video I came across but if you go to his channel youll see a fair amount of stuff.

I hate calling it Swirl, when the process calls for DIPPING the guitar body in a bath of Boraxed water that is covered with different color paint, then moved side to side as the body is pulled out of the borax/water mix.

DIPPED - Not Swirled no matter what people try to call it...

How else does one do a swirl paint job?

I guess what I'm actually saying is, "Swirl" is the effect you get not the method (in this case).

It's not that I think it's a bad idea, I just hate the way that that Strat looks. Also, a clear pickguard was a no brainer on this kind of guitar where you want a clear view of the artwork (basically) on the guitar.
