Fender Telecaster Deluxe Plus (w/ PICS)

Re: Fender Telecaster Deluxe Plus (w/ PICS)

I love that guitar. Of course, by the time I can afford one, Fender discontinues it. :rant:

They came out with the American Deluxe model (the one in your pic) with three pickups in the late 1990's. A couple of years later, they removed the middel pickup. Now they're not using the Vintage Noiseless pickups. Personally, I would keep it stock...

I would love to find that same guitar, color and everything and buy one.

BUMP.

Thanks Butch for the reply;
I'm asking because I just happened to stumble across one at work, and picked it up for 800. The noiseless pickups are cool, but i feel like they are sounding a bit... i dont know... not quite as 'tele-ish' as I was hoping so I'm looking for better suggestions.

I'll take a better picture soon, but I think this could be a kickass tele!

Looks good to me.... Now, I always thought the Fender VN pickups were very Teleish. All ears are different though. Are you looking for more noiseless replacements?

I played one for nearly an hour one day in the store. I fell in love with it but, like the other member stated, by the time I could afford it, they were no longer in production. Correct me if Im wrong, but doenst this guitar have the wilkinson bridge which acts like another pickup? The model I played did.

Now, I played this puppy through various setups, but my fav was through a Peavey XXL head and a Marshall 1961 cab. :32:

Like I say, I loved this guitar. But I have heard bad things about the noiseless p/u's. Apparently quite a few stop working for some reason. I have also heard that Fender corrected this problem, so I guess it depends on when they fixed the problem and when this guitar was produced. Even so, I think its a beautiful guitar and worst case you would have to buy a new pickup.

Id say go for it.
