These were made in 1995, 1996, 1997...what is the deal...are theyu most like the classic 50's 60's and 70's or are they more like the MIM standard of today?
The Tex-Mex Strat is most like the Jimmie Vaughan Strat in terms of materials and hardware, ie., "upgraded", U.S. quality bridge and tuners, 9.5" radius fretboard with medium jumbo frets and Tex-Mex pickups. It differs in neck shape (a "C" profile), standard Strat wiring and was available with a rosewood fretboard. I've been very pleased with mine.
I like my buddiy's Tex Mex Strat. Sounds great and plays great. Very comfortable neck with a rosewood fingerboard with nice big frets. Even the stock pickups are quite decent...though I'd change them if it was my guitar. Lew
