Fender Tremolo Arm Thread Size?

I went to install the trem arm in one of my Strats today and found that the threads are at least a little bunged up or overplated. Does anyone know the thread size so I can retap the bridge threads and redie the trem arm threads?

are you sure you have the right arm? could be the arm you have is a different thread size... maybe it's metric...

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's the right one. This is from my 1957 Commemorative with gold hardware.

hmm strange.... if you are sure it's the right size i'm sure turning it in the block is enough to remove any excessive plating.... still i wonder why is it so tight?????

Could it be the tightness you are feeling is not one of those little springs inside the trem block that Fender uses sometimes to stop the bar wobble??? Just wondering.....

I had a trem once cut new threads into the arm as the blocks threaded section went deaper then the threads on the arm... so if it was just too much plating it would shave it off i would think

One you get it working again get some teflon tape and use about 4 turns on the bar. Saves a lot of wear and tear. Change the tape when you change strings. A roll will last a L-O-N-G time.
