Fender Twin 65 RI Reviews anyone?

just looking for reviews. Does it really sound sterile? Is there another clean amp out there with reverb that sounds like it?

For less money, the 90's Blues Deville 4-10's and 2-12's have a great clean channel with reverb. They're the precursors to the Hotrod Devilles, and many swear they're better sounding. Also, the Pro Tube Concert, Twin, and Pro are great modern Fenders.

I had a 65 Twin Reissue for awhile, as an amp I A/B'd with a Marshall. It did have a nice clean channel but there was something about it that sounded kinda sterile.
Even though my new Bassman LTD doesn't have reverb, it's a much better sounding amp.

This is just my opinion, but I have always though the '65 Twin RI was a great sounding RI. It's been a "best-seller" just about everywhere, so there are obviously people that like it. The search for an original that's in mint condition is hard to find, not to mention the $$$. Good to know that in a time of crisis, you can go straight to music store and get a good tone today.

Isn't that the amp that Peter hayes in BRMC uses? He can get some cooooool sounds with his 335 and a chorus pedal (oh aye, and 4 tubescreamers... :D )

The reissue Twins will benifit greatly from all new tubes (get the beat stuff you can afford) and a new set of speakers, speakers are a matter of taste, but again don't get cheep stuff

Great speakers and great tubes always speaks languages with the reissues...
