Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

do you want a really good sounding, very powerful clean amp or a decent sounding more versitile amp?

the twin is big LOUD and clean. the deville has a nice clean sound and a dirty channel which can be ok but isnt as good as the clean sound. it works best for a low/medium gain tone.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

As Jeremy said the Twin is Loud & clean. Great amps for what it does. The negative is they are heavy as hell & I could never use one in most of the clubs I play... way too loud. Ohhh & clean did I say its clean? its clean!

The Deville Has a Master volume, & if memory serves it has two levels of gain & is foot switchable. this may make it seem more versatile but in my most humble opinion.... The Twin kicks the Devilles butt with a whole lot more tone. Ohh did I say its clean?? & Loud Yeah clean & loud!!

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

I have a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410. Compared to the basic DeVille, the HR model adds a More Gain channel. As jeremy has already pointed out, the HR overdrive sound is not about to put Boogie or Soldano out of business. I make extensive use of it with P-90-equiped mahogany guitars for Bluesy Rock

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

the "basic" deville is the blues deville and it actually sounds a fair amount different all around than the hot rod version.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

Are we even having this discussion? The Deville isn't even in the same ballpark as the Twin Reverb.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

The deville is a versatile, good value amp.
the twin is the king of fender amps.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

i think ive made my decision. the twin. im getting some wheels though.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

meh. Twins are not that heavy. They are not that loud either. Yes they can do loud but they sound good at a wide range onf levels. I've been gigging with one for a long time now. Love it.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

I said it in another thread and i'll say it here;

Surely the Fender Twin is only a 'loud amp' if you're trying to get your gain from the amp itself and thus have it turned up loud?

If you're getting your gain from pedals, and just want to use the Twin as a clean amp that is a good foundation for your pedals... then can't you just turn the thing down until it's quiet?
yes you can.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

Ive owned both, and theyre entirely different amps. The OD channels on the deville suck IMO, but when you run the clean channel aaround 5, and slam it with a good dirt pedal it screams. Twin speaks for itself... super clean, and takes pedals like a dream. If you plan on playing more distorted tones with the twin id suggest swappin the speakers for some Emi Texas Heats, or Swamps.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

Does a real Blackface Twin Breakup more/better at lower volumes than a reissue?

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

Cadillac or Hyundai?

Ya ****in troll. One is literally twice the price. Derp.

Re: Fender twin reverb vs. fender deville

+1 Steve Alysis - Texas heats are the business in a twin.
Metal Maniac - people who want breakup are not ppl who want twins, blackface or otherwise. They are designed to do the complete opposite.
